Welcome to the “New” CC Music. Most of you will know me as “Jimmy Egypt”. I’ve been making and repairing guitars for more years than I care to recall. I attended Glasgow School of Art and somehow managed to achieve a BA Hons degree amongst all the important shennanigans of playing in bands and partying. I did a bit of furniture and product design but have always been drawn back to the guitar. I started off guitar repair for the second time in the old days of CC Music in the early 90s when Steve Caban originally owned the business. I stayed on after CC was bought over, first by AOS then by Sound Control. I’m delighted to be in partnership with Steve. Between the two of us, we have much to offer and I think that it shows in the shop, not only on what is on the walls, but in the way the shop is run. This is just the start in what I hope will be a long association. Anyway, I play in a little band myself called the Beatles Beat. It keeps my hand in on the gigging front. It’s the most enjoyment I’ve ever had playing in a band. Trying to get my guitars to sound just the way George recorded them is a fascinating science. I could go on to talk for endless paragraphs about my guitars here , but as I sense you’re starting to nod off, I’ll save it for another time. Thanks for dropping by and be sure to say hello when you visit the shop!
